Mental Health Support: Your Questions Answered

Immediate Crisis Support


  • Call 911 (Emergency Services): If you or someone else is in immediate danger or at risk of harming themselves or others, call 911 for emergency assistance. Dispatchers can help guide you through the situation and connect you with appropriate medical or psychiatric care.
     
  • Crisis Text Line (Ontario)
     
    • Text "HOME" to 741741 to reach a trained crisis responder. They can offer emotional support and help connect you to local mental health resources.
       
  • Ontario Mental Health Crisis Line (CMHA)
     
    • 1-866-531-2600: This helpline provides confidential, 24/7 support for individuals in a mental health crisis, offering guidance on how to access local services.

 

  • Emergency Rooms (ERs): If you're in crisis, you can visit your nearest hospital’s emergency department. Most hospitals in Ontario have psychiatric services available for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. They will assess your situation and provide care or refer you to specialized treatment.


Mental Health Support for Youth and Children


  • Kids Help Phone (Text or Call):
     
    • Text "CONNECT" to 686868 or Call 1-800-668-6868.
       
    • This 24/7 service offers free, confidential support to children and youth in Ontario and across Canada.
       
  • Youth Crisis Line (Ontario): If you’re a youth in need of immediate mental health support, reach out to a crisis line like 1-800-668-6868 for direct help or text 686868 for support through the Kids Help Phone.


Therapy is covered by insurance plans that cover treatment by a Registered Psychotherapist. We provide you a receipt after your paid session to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.


Psychotherapist fees are recognized as a medical expense and can be a deduction on your Ontario tax return. Check with your accountant for more details.   


We offer therapy sessions Monday through Saturday. You can book directly on-line or contact us to schedule an appointment.


We are committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal health information. As regulated health professionals in Ontario, we follow the guidelines set out by the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) to ensure your information is handled with care, respect, and in accordance with the law. 


All personal information shared in therapy is kept confidential. Information will only be disclosed with your written consent, except when legally required by law. 


Our standard individual psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. This timeframe is commonly used across the field and allows for a focused, meaningful conversation while maintaining a consistent therapeutic rhythm. 


Your appointment time is reserved just for you. In order to provide consistent care and respect everyone's time, we kindly ask for 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. 


  • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to the full session fee
  • No-shows (missed appointments without notice) will also be charged the full session fee
  • Exceptions may be made in cases of emergency or sudden illness - please speak with your therapist if this applies


This policy helps ensure available time slots can be offered to other clients in need.


For your convenience, we offer secure credit card payments. We store your credit card information safely in our system for future sessions. We use a trusted, encrypted payment processor that complies with industry-standard security protocols, ensuring your financial information is protected at all times. 


 

How It Works:

  • Convenience: Once your payment information is securely stored, you won’t need to enter it again for future sessions, saving you time and effort.
     
  • Security: We use advanced encryption and compliance with PCI-DSS standards to protect your card data. Your sensitive information is never shared or accessible by unauthorized personnel.
     
  • Automatic Billing: For recurring sessions, payments will be processed automatically based on the schedule you’ve selected.
