You might notice:
On the outside, you’re still getting things done.
Inside, it can feel like you never fully come down from everything you’re carrying.
Sometimes it isn’t just stress. You might notice that your reactions feel bigger, faster, or harder to understand than they used to.
You might:
It can be confusing when your reaction doesn’t seem to match what’s happening. Often, though, that reaction makes more sense when we look at everything you’ve been carrying.
Even when you finally have time to slow down, it can be surprisingly hard to actually switch off.
You might:
You may have time to rest, but your mind is already onto the next thing.
Sometimes being tired isn’t the same as being able to slow down.
When you’ve been carrying too much for too long, being “on” can start to feel normal.
Maybe you’re always thinking ahead. Maybe you’re the person everyone relies on. Maybe your mind is constantly keeping track of what needs to happen next. Or maybe life simply hasn’t given you much room to stop.
After a while, slowing down can feel uncomfortable, even when you desperately need the break.
Therapy gives you a place to understand what’s keeping you in that cycle, what you’re carrying, and what might need to change, without giving you another list of things you “should” be doing better.
You don’t need to become better at handling everything. Sometimes the answer is figuring out why you’re having to handle so much in the first place.
You don’t need another person telling you to slow down, take a break or manage your stress better.
Together, we can work on:
This goal isn’t to never feel stressed or overwhelmed. It’s to get to a place where everything doesn’t feel quite so heavy, and you don’t have to work so hard just to keep yourself going.
Over time, you may start to notice:
Life may be busy. Stressful things will still happen. The difference is that you don’t have to feel consumed by all of it.
It’s a short, low-pressure conversation to see if working together feels like a good fit.
You don’t need to prepare anything.
You don’t need to explain everything at once.
Most people just start with what’s been going on recently, and we go from there.
You can ask questions.
You can take your time deciding.
There’s no pressure to continue if it doesn’t feel right.
